Trip report
Went to an Alamo for the first time in four months. Honestly, I only went to one or two other movies during that time. This was my first experience with the QR ordering system. I have some gift cards that I'd like to spend so I'm not leaving money on the table if I never go to an Alamo again. I purposely chose a late (9:00), lightly attended show (large theater but only about a dozen in audience). Results were mixed.
- Ordered chicken tenders, which still seem to be good quality. They arrived in a reasonable time.
- I'd ordered an extra side of BBQ sauce which did not arrive with the meal. I flagged it immediately and it took 20 to 30 minutes to arrive. (The runner apologized for the delay when he dropped it off.)
- I ordered a couple of soda refills and they both seemed to take too long to arrive. I guess I don't know how full the other theaters were and if that was holding up the kitchen. Or if they only had one runner for several theaters.
- Around halfway through the movie I ordered popcorn and it never arrived. It turns out it never got submitted to the kitchen. (At least, it wasn't on my tab afterwards.) I distinctly remember clicking the Place Order button (or whatever the wording is) and the little green message box dropping down from the top when I did.
- I didn't feel too guilty about using my phone to order (after years of training not to do this) because there was no one sitting near me. Not sure I would feel if there were people on either side of me.
So not horrible, but not impressive. I'm wary of going to a full theater...
