Previous labs I’ve worked it have always made the point that you need to reprotonate glassware with weak acid after being in the base bath. I was talking with an older labmate in my current lab, and he told me he’s never heard of that and uses the glassware after washing off the base.
After a quick internet search, I can’t find anywhere that states it’s a necessary step. Has any one else heard the acid wash was required, or have my old labs just been precautious?
