Awesome resale store find! (Nearly!) Full R2-D2 kit.
So my partner and I love going to thrift and resale stores and last month at one of our favorites I spied a pile of purple boxes. It turns out it was about half of the R2-D2 kit! They had been trying to sell it online for a while and wanted it gone to make space in their storage, so they put it in the store. I snagged it for only $40.
So I started doing research on how much it would cost to finish the kit. I saw how expensive it would be and got a little dejected and decided to put it aside for now.
Fast forward to today, we went back to same store and the owner saw us and got super excited. Her husband was cleaning and organizing their storage, found a bunch more boxes and set them aside in case I wanted them! Of course I snatched them up (for only another $140!).
Whoever had them before built most of the left leg (which I finished) and most of the dome frame. I just got done going through the open parts and all that's missing is the last metal piece of the dome frame and a single wiring piece.
I'm really excited to build this! Should I do a regular build log, what do you guys think?
