So hear me out Season 4 of FROM ends
Man in Yellow piercing Donna's eye and eating it, and she naturally bolts through the Faraway Tree like any reasonable person would. She lands in some enchanted land, immediately clocks a giant spider and a centaur having, and nopes out of there at full speed. She stumbles upon a suspiciously pumpkin-obsessed house, where a tall brooding man hands her a magical eyepatch, no questions asked, as one does. Donna, running on adrenaline and zero critical thinking, uses this thing to speedrun dark arts, accidentally transfigures herself into a man mid-spell classic beginner mistake and boom: Mad-Eye Moody was Donna this whole time. The Ministry of Magic simply failed to update her file. Constant vigilance, bestie.
