Question About Landlord and NIPSCO
Hey all, this one is a doozy.
TLDR; Haven't had power for 8+ days, and no timeline of it getting turned on.
Full disclosure, I live in Lake County and own a mobile home, but not the property.
On 6/24 I lost power due to a storm basically destroying the electrical meter.
NIPSCO showed up that Friday and got the rest of rhe park up and running. They told my landlord, and she informed me Monday the electrician she called was waiting on NIPSCO to cut the clips.
I called NIPSCO Wednesday and they said they wouldn't need anyone to cut the clips. An electrician could cut it and then they'll just have to show up to turn it on.
When I spoke to my landlord and told her, she let me know she was just going off of what the electrician said.
My question is is this legal? At what point should I get a lawyer involved? I've been staying in Valpo for a week, driving 30 miles daily. My landlord is acting like this is no big deal, and even asked if I wanted to buy some baked goods she made the other day.
