Went public suiting for the first time today!
I live in a smallish town, and I've been wearing my kemonomimi stuff in public for around 2 years now. It's about 60% positive comments, 30% people who just stare or make weird faces, and about 10% people who actually do or say something insulting. Last week I had a guy bark at me for wearing a wolf tail and ears, so needless to say I was a little worried how it'd go. I was pleasantly surprised that no one made any rude comments this time. I did get a LOT more people just staring than I'm used to which was a bit uncomfortable. But, I also had damn near every little kid I saw giddy and yelling 'Hi!" at me which more than made up for it. Overall it went better than expected, and also I give major props to anyone who can suit without a handler because navigating in a suit is tough! If it weren't for having my partner with, I would've accidently mowed down an old lady because she was right in the blind spot that the space between my eyes causes!
