NA Have Only Had Multiple Top 4 Teams Once in the Last 10 RLCS LANs
I was looking at Twitter and saw posts calling SR NA’s last hope, and it felt like I’d seen that same “X team is NA’s last hope” tweet before Championship Sunday about 10 times over the past few years. Well, it wasn’t 10 times, but 7, since that’s the number of times NA have had only one team in the top 4 as their last hope over the last 10 RLCS LANs, or roughly the last three years, excluding the Kick-Off LAN.
The only time two NA teams made top 4 together in that time frame was at the 2025 Birmingham Major, when NRG and TU played each other in the semifinals.
Also, only twice has an NA team other than G2/NRG made top 4, and both times it was a Firstkiller team. That means only the following seven NA players have made top 4 in the past few years: Atomic, BeastMode, Daniel, Firstkiller, Lj, Kofyr and Chronic. Meanwhile, EU have already had nine players making top 4 this season alone, and the following 21 in the last 10 RLCS LANs: Vatira, Atow, Juicy, Archie, Oski, Nass, Zen, Stizzy, Exotiik, Dralii, Oaly, Joyo, M0nkey M00n, ApparentlyJack, Joreuz, Rise, Itachi, Seikoo, Alpha54, Radosin, and Acronik.
