Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding a job opportunity in Toronto. I recently got a job offer to be a dental receptionist for a small dentist office. However, I knew it wasn’t a match for my NOC and wouldn’t qualify me for immigration. I told the business this, after getting some advice from an immigration counsellor, and surprisingly they agreed to change my job TITLE to [administrative assistant] or [assistant] whichever fits the NOC on my offer letter/contract, as they really wanted me to start working there, but my day to day duties and my salary would be the same.
I want to know if this is okay/acceptable and will I face any trouble in the future if I accept it? I’m not familiar with the process but I think all the tasks listed in their original job posting seem pretty similar to an admin coordinator anyway.
Any help/advice/anecdotes would be highly appreciated, I’m on a time crunch since they want me to come in for a test shift in a few days, thank you!!!
