Hey Barber Fam, I’ve recently received a 1 star review on Google from a new client. I tried my best with my service and tried to detail my work as much as I can. He came in looking like the young Justin Bieber with long hair.
-Before I sat him on my chair, I greeted him and I asked him “how’s everything and how can I help him today?”
- he said that he has been doing a lot of research and hasn’t got a cut for 2-3 months , he pulled out his phone, had a list of inspiration picture from ChatGPT with his front face and he picked the haircut kind of similar to the 1st picture(which is a short combover 1.5 fade or 1 fade on the side natural sideburns and back and blended the parting)
- during the consultation I educated my client that, the haircut I give him is going to look like the picture BUT he’ll have a hard time styling it because
•his hairline has different growth patterns, if I was to cut it as short as the picture, sure it’ll be easier but the back of his is flat and if I cut it short. Every morning when he wakes up, he’ll need glue to hold down the hair by his cowlick
•the sides of his head grows left right down up, AI only knows what your face look like but doesn’t know how the side of your grows, his hair doesnt grow consistent on both sides.
At first I cut off 4 inches off on the top gave my client a 1.5 fade on the right side and I showed it to him on the mirror, he told me to go a tad bit shorter so I go with a 1. I show him again he said PERFECT, as a result I got done with the haircut in a little bit over 40 minutes, my duration for every haircut is 50 minutes wether it’s a man or a child. So I wash his hair after I finish cutting his hair because I have almost 10 minutes left because why not. I put product into his hair and styled it show him the mirror again, I told him that I suggest to go with a skin taper just in the BACK ONLY because his hair in the back grows crazy and once it’ll grow out it’ll be in a nicer shape. He said he wants to keep it natural just like the AI picture he showed me. I said are you sure? Before I clean you up.
He starts feeling his hair and he looked at the mirror and he looked at me, then asked me should I go shorter on the top? I told him, if he’s happy with it I’ll be glad to do it but I don’t suggest it though just because of the cowlick. He said alright nvm he’s happy with it. Woke up the next morning and I saw this, I’m bamboozled and confused what went wrong and how could I prevent it from happening next time?
