Language Information

So, as I'm evaluating moving to Riga for work, I would of course need to learn the language, I know Italian, English and a bit of Russian.

How hard is Latvian? How much could it take to be "decent enough" to be able to navigate day to day life even outside work?

Vacation day laws in Latvia

Hi everyone!

I am at the beginning of a hiring process for a position in Riga.

I like the offer, but I was a bit taken aback by the number of yearly paid vacation days, 20 in total.

I worked in other Nordic and EU countries and I was used to 25-30 a year, so my question is, is this normal? There's some local law that I am missing? Do you have more national holidays than other countries? Do you just love working that much?

Jokes aside, thank you for any help you could give me.
