I got so frustrated with "Amtsdeutsch" and German paperwork, so I built a tool to automate it for Expats.
Hi everyone,
Like many of you, I’ve spent way too much time trying to decode German bureaucracy. Between figuring out the exact format for a Kündigung (cancellation letter) or trying to fill out the Anmeldung forms for different cities without making a mistake that sends you to the back of the line at the Bürgeramt, the process is just exhausting.
As a web developer, I decided to build a tool to solve my own headache, and I think it could help a lot of people here.
It’s called e-formulare.de.
How it works: Instead of downloading confusing PDF templates and fighting with Word formatting, you just answer a few simple questions in plain language on your phone or PC. The system automatically maps your answers to the official German forms (DIN 5008 compliant for letters) and generates a perfect, ready-to-print PDF.
What it currently supports:
- Anmeldung: Perfectly formatted registration forms for Berlin, Munich, Bremen, etc.
- Wohnungsgeberbestätigung: For your landlord to sign.
- Cancellations (Kündigungen): Gyms, internet providers, mobile contracts, electricity/gas.
- Requests: DSGVO Schufa requests, Tax-ID retrieval, etc.
Full transparency (because I know how Reddit works):
- It is NOT free. I use Stripe for payments and servers cost money. It costs a few euros per document (starting at €1.99).
- NO Subscriptions (Keine Abofalle): You pay only for the document you need right now. No account creation required, no recurring charges.
- Privacy (DSGVO): I don't want your data. The data you enter is used exclusively to generate the PDF and is instantly wiped from the servers the moment you download your document.
I just finished optimizing the site to be super fast on mobile, and I’m actively adding new cities for the Anmeldung forms.
I’d love for you guys to check it out. If you have any feedback on the UX, or if there's a specific frustrating form you’d like me to add next, please let me know!
Cheers!
