I was walking at night when I heard some loud fluttering and saw this moth (elm sphinx) struggling on the road. It was trying to fly but couldn’t. Its wings are a bit faded and tattered and it rested on my hand without trying to fly or move. I’m pretty sure it’s a female. Is it ok???

If it’s close to dying I’d like to keep it (do moths still lay eggs close to death?) otherwise I’ll release it
