My grandmother in her family lockshop (1960)
My great grandfather immigrated from Mexico to California where he opened a lockshop. This is my grandmother in her senior year of high school (1960). The caption reads:
>Above is shown another expert locksmith, Miss Rosemary Luna, daughter of Tony Luna of Santa Ana, California. This picture was taken at her bench and we are told that no one had better mess around with her tools either. With many years’ experience in her dad’s shop, she can be depended on to do just about all the work that comes in and has earned her way through private schools with money she made in locksmithing. Now in her last year of high school, she plans to continue her studies, majoring in journalism and several of her items have already been published in the “California Locksmith” which is the official publication of CLA. In addition to her regular wages for locksmithing work, she is also paid a 10% commission on safe sales made by her.
