First « Ultra »
I (35 F) signed up for a backyard ultra a few months ago, in the middle of my training for a half marathon and was super primed up and did impulsively lol ! Now I’m slightly regretting it and also freaking out. It’s not a usual Ultra distance, it’s 4km every hour with a « ascend and descend 370m every loop. »
I just started running last year, completed a 5km in 29min, then 10km in 58min and then a half marathon in 2 hours and 10 min. So still a beginner…
I’m telling myself, worst case scenario I’ll do 2-3 loops and then just relax and go to sleep lol, but I would still like to do the best I can and be as prepared as I can!
So I am looking for you tips and tricks for training! What help you the most for your first Ultra, any specific runs, strength exercises, fuel?
I’ve been using Runna for the last year but it doesn’t seem to be the right training tool for trail/ultra training!
