Hi! Sometime hopefully soon I would like to get into keeping isopods for the first time, and I thought I should choose a species I like so that I can center my research on care around that specific species.

My two favourite isopods I've found are A. vulgare magic potions and P. scaber dalmations. From what I've seen they're quite hardy, easy to look after, and can be seen on the surface quite often.

I prefer the look of dalmations over magic potions which would make them an easy choice, however I've seen that they reproduce quite frequently while potions reproduce much slower. Do P. scabers reproduce fast enough that I'd need to split the colony relatively frequently, or is it just slightly faster than A. vulgares to the point the difference is barely noticable?

Thanks in advance, and if anyone has any links to good resources to research from that'd be appreciated!
