42nd Avenue W: A missed opportunity?

42nd Avenue W: A missed opportunity?

Just viewed the designs for the 42nd Ave project, and it's yet another car centric project with the majority of the street being used by cars. We're starting from scratch, this could be a pedestrian only path where for just a couple of blocks, the entire street if full of families walking, children playing, people having fun and relaxing and eating. But no, instead, the majority of the street is for cars. Learned absolutely nothing from what makes some of the most iconic streets in the world so special.

What a missed opportunity, Lynnwood.

Light rail HOV parking permit logistics

How’s it like with the HOV parking permit at Lynnwood light rail station? Which area is cordoned off for permit holders? Is there always space there? When does that area get full?

I’ve got a permit but haven’t tried it yet cause I’m unclear on the logistics around it. Don’t want to bring my car and find that there’s no space in the morning.

Thank you for your help!

New-ish homeowner, need some advice. Been taking care of this garden, replaced the mulch, added some plants, take out weeds regularly etc.

My wife doesn’t like all the brown mulch and wants grass added to have some greenery. I think grass is resource-inefficient and would be a pain to manage especially given the uneven terrain.

Would putting in ground cover be a good idea? Ground cover all over or just the edges? What about the back near the fence? I put a bit of sandwort last year on one of the edges and I really like how it’s grown and is blooming right now. But I’m afraid putting it all over will cause other issues like difficulty cleaning up leaves in the fall, and restrict airflow for existing plants.

Open to any other ideas.

Images attached. Thank you!
