Trying to understand the definition of a Sport.

Me and a buddy were talking, and we were trying to determine what defines a sport. We narrowed it down to 4 criteria, or The 4 Pillars of Sports. Please let me know if you can think of any exceptions

  1. it has to be a Game. There has to be rules and criteria for a winner and loser

  2. there has to be an organizing body. There has to be a judge to defer to in disputed outcomes

  3. Cannot be pure luck. Skill must be involved, ie, you cannot make a sport of picking a number behind someone’s back

  4. physical activity is involved, and you must be the one to perform such physical activity. Competitive chess is not a sport, because I could have a stand in for who moves my chess pieces. Poker is not a sport, because I could have a stand in for who plays my cards.

Thanks for taking the time to read
