Veteran lawyer Lorna Kapunan sharply criticized Vice President Sara Duterte, describing as “lutang” any public official who issues death threats, and urging that she undergo a psychiatric evaluation as questions mount over her conduct.

In a new forum, Kapunan said Filipinos must look beyond legal arguments and examine the character and behavior of leaders, especially those seeking the presidency.

“Let’s also look, apart from all these legal arguments, at the demeanor and conduct of a president — of a vice president who wants to become president,” she said.
