How would you paint FDM-printed coins for a realistic metallic look?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently putting together a Sabacc set, and a friend is 3D printing a full batch of credits/coins for me using an FDM printer.

Since these will be handled a lot during games, I want them to feel and look like actual metal Star Wars currency (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) rather than lightweight plastic toys.

I'm new to finishing and painting 3D prints, so I’d love to get your input:

  • How would you approach painting small FDM coins to completely hide the layer lines?
  • What are your go-to products or techniques for getting a realistic, shiny metallic finish?
  • Do you have any favorite weathering techniques (like washes) to give them that used Star Wars look without losing the metallic shine?
  • What type of topcoat/clear varnish do you recommend so the paint doesn't rub off after constant handling?

I’d love to hear how you would tackle a project like this from scratch. Thanks in advance.

Has anyone bought a T-shirt from the shop?

How's the quality, and how do they fit? Do they run large or small, or are they true to size?

Thanks in advance!

Can someone please explain this to me?

From what I’ve learned so far, both “small” and “little” can be translated as “lille” or “litet”... so it felt like a 50/50 guess, and of course I got it wrong on my first try 😅

Is this a Duolingo mistake, or is there actually a rule where certain forms are only used with one of them?

I was wondering if I’d drop back to a previous VIP rank if my votes decrease over time and fall below the threshold, or if I’d stay at my current rank.

I’m currently Gold II with 2090 votes.
