UNI FAN LCD FLEX FAN – Advanced LCD Customization

Many thanks to Lian Li for the UNI FAN FLEX LCD Upgrade Campaign—I was really thrilled to be a part of it!

The campaign was the perfect opportunity to finally give the white build of the upstairs setup a little refresh. I took advantage of the chance to replace the old first-generation Strimer fans—which had been part of the build from the very beginning—while switching to the LCD Flex fans.

As for the UNI FAN TL LCD fans: not only do they look fantastic, but the installation and setup were also absolutely hassle-free. The 140mm wireless LCD fans in my black build were very delicate to install, but with the Flex fans, everything went perfectly. Absolutely no problems.

Since this PC hadn’t used any wireless components until now, the installed Lian-Li software was also quite outdated (never touch a running system…). Installing the latest version of L-Connect 3 went smoothly, the outdated version was cleanly removed, and the receiver’s firmware upgrade also went off without a hitch.

Since I took this as an opportunity to replace the Strimer with the new wireless version, I also set up wireless control for the fans. They were recognized immediately—that worked perfectly, too.

I went ahead and created a Cyberpunk theme to try it out, and I also gave the Katakombcat logo a Cyberpunk look—it looks absolutely awesome. The larger LCDs also look much better in the setup photos than the TL-LCDs I used before.

Since the setup upstairs actually belongs to my wife, I naturally had to try out the included cat theme—she loved it!

I’m really very satisfied; the fan performance and noise level are perfectly fine, too. Now I’m eagerly awaiting the 140mm version so I can upgrade my Black Build down in the man cave (aka the catacombs) as well (last photo).
