Love these quick market stall prep tips from VistaPrint Ambassadors 👇

We spoke to four small business owners (and VistaPrint Ambassadors) about what they’ve learned from running a market stall to promote their brand and sell their products. The whole video is worth a watch, but here’s some standout tips and advice for when you’re still in the planning stage:

- Don’t be afraid to start small… just start! “You can start with some simple items that express your brand, and once you find your flow, then you can invest in new things that will elevate your experience,” Brandon from Happy Tears says. “When I first started off, all I had was an unbranded colored tablecloth with my products as the star and seeing how that went.” Now he creates a whole pop-up shop environment at markets and trade shows.

- Do a mock set-up at home: "Make sure you're not missing anything and you like how it looks, and it's also just going to give you practice setting up and relieve stress on the actual market day," says Jess from Our Cheery Corner.

- Plan to get social media content: The value of a market stretches far beyond the day itself, adds Jess, who posts behind-the-scenes market prep content on TikTok and Instagram. “I find that by posting this content, I generate a lot of online sales and build my online community.”

- Once people are at your stall, strategize ways to keep them there: “I have very interactive rummage sale table setups so they will actually just stay at your table and look through products,” says Indy from Doodles by Indy, who also brings spinning card displays and sticker boxes for people to sift through.

Weird/unexpected trade show giveaways or gimmicks?

What's the most unexpected trade show giveaway or tactic you've seen that's actually worked? (Full disclosure that I work at VistaPrint, where we do a lot of customer surveys on general promo items, etc. The answer is always either pens or T-shirts, ha) But I'm wondering if you've seen anything counterintuitive that has been really popular?

I'm thinking... dunk tanks at a corporate event... or giant bags of candy from dentists? Tarot cards at a financial conference? Would love to know if there are any random trends out there!
