Earth electrodes
Hey guys and girls.
Is there actually a reg that stipulates how far an earth electrode must penetrate into the ground.
A landlord has had an audit at their rental property. And it’s been raised that the earth electrode is protruding too much. So I’ve now been asked to quote to rectify. (To be clear it isn’t my instal).
But I don’t think there is actually a reg stating minimum penetration. It just requires a low enough resistance and for it to be secured and tagged.
But I’m keen to know if you people know better. Maybe there is an SIR?
Edit.
Yes I was being lazy.
Yep 5.3.6.3 it’s 1.2mtrs. So 200mm protrusion.
