Incision care?

Hi I’m one week post lap and my bandages are about to fall off. I really don’t like the feeling of open wounds and I prefer to cover them. My surgeon said it’s ok to do so. What kind of tape or silicon do you recommend?

Did your surgeon explain your results?

Hi I had stage 4 DIE endo found in 19 place, plus my appendix taken out. I had my surgery done with a top nyc specialist and during my one week post op appointment they barley went over my results and basically said your good to go it was found, the end. No recommendations or anything. I’m a bit shocked honestly.

Is this normal?

Birth control after endo diagnosis. Would you take it or no?

I have stage 4 DIE endo. Just got diagnosed and had a lap. I’ve never once taken birth control, and it’s now crossing my mind if I should to mitigate endo. I do want to get pregnant in the next 1-2 years so I’m not sure if it’s the best idea and my body is very sensitive to any hormones or medication so I am nervous about side effects. Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Terrified for first period post op. What are your tips?

Hi, I’m a few days post op they found stage 4 DIE endo in 19 places + they took my appendix out. I’m terrified for my first period and I see a lot of people say it’s worse than before. I’ve always suffered with terrible periods (bleeding and cramping) constantly crying on the floor so this is not foreign to me but I just can’t see how they can get worse when they’re already so bad. Anyone have experience or tips they can share to help me get through? Thanks

Shortness of breath and difficulty swallowing post lap

just had my lap yesterday… they found endo in 19 places. Since the surgery I’ve had shortness of breathe l,
Can’t speak full sentences without catching my breathe. Additionally, it’s a bit hard to swallow and feels like the food / ice cream is sitting in my throat until I push it down with swallowing more / water.

Did anyone experience this? My doctor is telling me to monitor myself until tomorrow I’m just a bit concerned

Post lap and they sent me home with a catheter for 5 days?

Hi, I just got a lap yesterday - confirmed stage 2 endo on my blat and pelvis. I peed a little at the hospital but because I couldn’t empty all the way they insisted on a folley catheter and sent me home. They said I should keep it in 5 days. It’s extremely uncomfortable but did anyone have to do this too? I’m nervous it’s going to weaken my batter…

Architect recs for nyc co-op

We are working with a construction company to submit a very small renovation plan to our nyc co-op - all we are doing is expanding closets. Of course our board pushed back and is insisting DOB and we need an architect to simply get DOB approval. We’re getting outrages quotes $10k+ for this - does anyone have any similar experience and can make recommendations. Or is this normal?

27F, have my first lap next week. I’ve never tried to get pregnant nor do I think I’m ready but I’m nervous I’m gonna miss this “window” post op and it’ll get worse for me later. I don’t plan on taking any birth control either. Does anyone have experience getting pregnant a long time after surgery?

Not that I want something to be wrong in my MRI results but it would’ve justified my surgery next week. I know endo is often missed in an MRI but I’m so nervous of going through a lap just to be told they found nothing. I’ve had all the endo symptoms but have been feeling better these last few months so I’m really in my head about this.

Hi, I have my first lap next week…I am nervous! I know the hospital will cover my incisions when I leave but once the tape falls off I want to cover my incisions to avoid infection. Are there any good bandaid or tape recommendations that don’t have sticky glue on it? I have very sensative skin and sometimes break out from bandaids so looking for any recs…

Thanks
