1 year of ownership, and 6 months of service

I figured I’d give a simple “Horror” story of my car, I leased a 25 Daytona Scatpack on August 12, 2025.

First few weeks were great. Then end of the month the parking brake with ! comes on, towed to the shop, needed an update. Couple more weeks, the car was dead. Called the dealer they sent a tow, the 12v was dead. No biggie they said it’s a simple fix. Then a week later it gets towed back in for another 12v battery. At this point I ask “Why is the battery dying all of a sudden”. They respond with “It’s a normal thing with EV’s when they drive it doesn’t really charge like a gas car would” again I take the car.

For atleast a month the car was perfectly fine. Then it bricks itself at the charging station in October, Called for a tow the car is at the dealership for another 2 weeks. They call and say the car needed another 12v and an update. At this point I’m getting fed up with the car and decide to take it and see if I can get the car lemon lawed. Find out I need atleast 20 more days to lemon law it.

From November-December I barely drive the car I take my spare vehicle. But one December morning I’m heading to work, and my screen lit up like a Christmas tree, warning lights flashing lights you name it, but the primary ones were the turtle light, and claw light, along with the 12v battery light, and the car is now in Drive By Brake, wasn’t fun, UNTIL the car glitched and started accelerating, no brake response safely stop the car call for a tow to a different dealership. The new dealership tells me the car needs a new front motor. The car sits in the shop until February, needing two front motors and a HV battery.

February rolls around get a call the car is ready, go pick it up after work have it for the weekend, think the car should be fine now. Sunday night after charging the car the wrench light comes on turtle light, HV battery light and 12v battery light, car was driving but made me pull over and bricks it self. Tow back to the same dealership. And let them know, they said it needs an update that doesn’t exist yet and will let me know soon.

Between all of this the car is now being dealt with by a lawyer, I let them know what happened and a couple days later they let me know doge agrees to buy it back, I signed all the paper work in April, and while this is going on the car went into quarantine at the dealership, parked at their body shop away from other vehicles, June my spare vehicle gets totaled in an accident I have to go buy another. Thankfully not dodge, I call the lawyer for any update “No update yet, keep paying, we will let you know”. Cool I figure car should be gone soon.

Now it’s august, I’m going for broke with this car and my new used vehicle. The insurance was killing me, So I call the dealership asking if I can take the plates (the registration expired two months ago prior) they said give us a while we will call back. 5 hours later the manager calls and says my car is ready and that they didn’t know they had it. And that I need to take it off their lot, at this point the car had been on their lot for 140 days, dead and unresponsive. 200 total days sitting in dealership lots

But as we speak the car is sitting in my backyard with no plates and awaiting Dodge to come and take the car.

And if anyone had successfully gotten it bought back how long did it take from signing the papers to the vehicle being taken back. And I’m sorry for this being so long I just needed to rant
