In each Saints Row game (Minus Gat Out of Hell), what character from other media did you recreate as your boss.

SR2: It was Virgil Hawkins or Randy Robertson in my first gameplay (but unintentionally created Crabman from My Name Is Earl), and Rogue in X-Men: Evolution for my second gameplay.

SR3: It was supposed to be Aaliyah, but it ended up being Jessica Jones in late '90s and early Y2K Urban Clothing, and in my second gameplay it was Yoruichi from Bleach with a Hispanic accent.

SR4: It was Domino / Neena Thurman from X-Men/X-Force Comics, and in my second game it was Raven from the 2003 Teen Titans.

My Experience in Saints Row 4

I recently finished Saints Row 4, and I find this game an improvement over Saints Row: The Third, as well as underrated despite the negativity the game receives from the community. I played the game on PC again, and the version I played was the game of the century edition.

I started playing this game last month after finishing Saints Row 3, as well as dealing with midterms and other college things. After the first mission, I went with my female boss again, like in the last game, and really enjoyed Laura Bailey's performance in the series. Since the game has a superhero vibe later on, my avatar would look like Domino from the X-Men / X-Force Comics. Clothing I frequently use is from Nobody Likes Me & Leather & Lace.

For my gameplay, it is the same as Saints Row 3, but unfortunately, it is a simulation of Steelport as Zinyak blew up Earth. The missions in the game are better here than in the last game, since everyone knows that half of the SR3 missions are the mandatory activities, and the best part about this is that they learned their lesson from the last game by separating the activities into sidequests and the main missions being the story missions. Speaking of stores, the majority of places like Image as Design, Rusty's Needle, and Rim Jobs are unlockable if you succeed on their puzzles, which I did with the help of walkthroughs.

For the story, despite its change of tone, given that being a Sci-Fi superhero sandbox, I really like the villain in this game more than SR3, since you can feel his presence throughout the game, which gives me SR2 villain vibes as well as not killing him off way too early like Phillippe Loren. There are a lot of callbacks to previous games of the series from SR1 to SR3, as well as bringing back old characters such as Benjamin King, Tanya Winters, Maero, DJ Veteran Child, & SR2 Shaundi. Some of the OG Voices returned for their roles, but others couldn't return or passed away during production. Johnny Gat's return was unexpected, which made me tear up.

The Music in this game, I mostly listened to my own mixtape, which consists of tracks in GenX & KRhyme, while the majority of it is from the Mix. Whenever there are specific missions with specific music playing, I would often sing along or vibe with it like Thin Lizzy in Johnny's Loyalty Mission, Sing-A-Long to Paula Abdul & Biz Markie with Pierce, or Robert Palmer in the Strip Dance. Sadly, no Deftones in here, which made me sad.

Lastly, for the final mission, I was fanboying when they were referencing the 1986 Transformers Movie while "The Touch" was playing in the background. As I finish off Zinyak, I become king of the Zin Empire and end with a dance party set to "This is How We Do It," and let me tell you, Kinzie has some killer moves. Then credits where the saints time-travel across different eras, which I get thanks to finishing the Loyalty missions. The cast singing to Just A Friend since this is also a memorial to Michael Clarke Duncan was heartwarming.

Afterwards, I tried the DLC missions, starting with Enter the Dominatrix, which I just finished, and now doing the Christmas DLC. That's all I'm going to say about SR4, and if I rate the game, I would say 8/10.

My Experience of Saints Row: The Third

Disclaimer: Before I begin, I want to point out that I don't use A.I. on my posts, and ever since joining Reddit around 2020, these are words based on my own experience, not generated. Before commenting, use an AI fact checker to know if it's human-written or not, and please stay civil. Anyways.

Saints Row: The Third is the sequel to Saints Row 2 & overall the third entry in the series, which is considered to be one of their best-selling games both financially and reception-wise. However, the game is considered to be one of the divisive ones because of the shift in tone leaning towards its comedy, which I will dive into later on.

I began playing SR3 after finishing SR2 during my 3rd Semester of classes, and I'm playing the original version of the game rather than the remaster, since the original is only 8 GB while the remaster is 40 GB, which my computer can't handle.

For my avatar, I went with a female boss this time since one of the new boss voices is Laura Bailey, whom I'm a fan of, and her personality in the game is so cool, badass, tomboyish, & funny. Speaking of voices, there are new voices for the boss, while Kenny Blank & Rebecca Sanabria returned from SR2. The other new voices include Troy Baker, Robin Atkin Downes (The British Voice), Tara Platt (The Russian Voice), & for some weird reason, Steve Blum doing a zombie voice. Also, I took the chance of changing outfits throughout the game rather than the last game, since I'm playing female and there are a lot of female clothing options in this game, and the best places to buy female clothing are Nobody Likes Me and Leather & Lace. The outfits I would use in my avatar are based on the Urban & Alt Culture during the 90s & 2000s, which I will share after posting this first.

In terms of gameplay, there are a lot of changes. Animation looked smooth, the combat system improved from the last game, the respect system is for leveling up & upgrading towards your character, and missions aren't separate storylines but rather as levels or chapters. Also, there are choices in the game now. This is one of the stressful parts of the game since these choices determine the course of the game, and the majority of the choices I picked were related to cash & weapons.

Music in the game, the radio stations remained the same, and its new stations include the Adult Swim Station, The Blood (which is just Krunch with Modern Metal), & Kabron, which is a station I didn't listen to because Reggaeton is a genre I generally hate the most. One of my favorite stations in the game remains the same from the last game: Gen-X, KRhyme, & The Mix (I love the addition of 90s songs). Unfortunately, it feels lackluster since most of the song selections are, let's say, questionable. In Gen-X, the majority of the songs here are Indie/Underground, except for the Deftones song; they would have added more songs from mainstream bands at that time, balancing Indie & mainstream like SR2, maybe another Paramore & P! ATD song; as well as other bands/artists such as Fall Out Boy, Avril Lavigne, All-Time Low, All-American Rejects, Owl City, Green Day, etc. KRhyme, same reason as Gen-X, they could have added more mainstream songs since this type of songs were popping up during those years, another Ne-Yo song, and maybe artists such as Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Alicia Keys, Usher, Flo Rida, Pitbull, & Black-Eyed Peas. The Blood is another station which could have added more Metal bands besides BVB, like Pierce the Veil, Sleeping with Sirens, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Bullet for My Valentine, Asking Alexandria, & A Day To Remember.

Sadly, the game's story was poorly executed, which I have to agree with the fanbase on that. Because throughout the game, half of the missions are story missions, and the other half of it are side-activities that are basically a tutorial mission for those specific activities. Compared to SR2, most of its side-activities are for grinding the respect bar to play missions, and aren't part of each gang storyline. Here, they made some of these missions mandatory throughout the story, which I didn't like. One mission in particular is Insurance Fraud for Angel's Missions; it took me multiple attempts to complete because of how challenging it was same goes for that zombie mission at the STAG Arc. For the last mission, I played with both endings. For me personally, I liked the Bad Ending more since it makes sense thematically in the game's storyline of the saints selling out and getting out of it, and this would have been a better ending if they hadn't killed off Viola, Shaundi, & Burt Reynolds.

As for my closing thoughts, I really enjoyed the game despite its flaws. Gameplay-wise, it improved from SR2; story-wise, as I mentioned before, it couldn't have been better. I enjoyed the activities as well, especially the new ones like Prof. Genki & Tank Mayhem. If I were to rate the game around 7/10, the game was great/enjoyable, but it could have been better. That's All.

First time with Saints Row the Third & my thoughts (Pt. 1)

Note: The post may be very long, so I decided to split my experience of Saints Row 3 into two parts, with the first part about the first half of the game, its story & changes, and my gameplay. While Part 2 is more about the latter half of the game, based on experience, and my closing thoughts.

After I finished Saints Row 2, I played the next game in the series, Saints Row: The Third, aka one of the best-selling entries in the franchise and the most divisive among the fanbase due to the change in tone. I decided to try the game and experience it myself, along with finishing the game in the span of 3 days.

Set three years after SR2, The Saints become Media Icons in-universe after merging with Ultor (aka the Last Game's antagonist). The Boss, Shaundi, & Gat committed a bank robbery in Stillwater to promote their upcoming film; unfortunately, the three encountered unexpected forces that led to their arrests. After the first mission, I began my character creation, this time I went with the Female Boss, this time around since her design is way better here than SR2, and I can't help the fact that Laura Bailey is the new voice of the Female Boss. Speaking of Voices, the voice selection in the game is different compared to the last game. Kenny Blank & the Hispanic Chick returned to the sequel, while the new voices are Troy Baker, Robin Atkin Downes as the British voice, Tara Platt as the female russian voice, the aforementioned Laura Bailey & Steve Blum providing the Zombie voice.

Once arrested, they encountered one of the game's newest gangs in the series, the Morningstar, whose bank they had just unsuccessfully robbed, which is owned by Philippe Loren, who bailed the saints out of prison and is the leader of the criminal organization "The Syndicate". After escaping Loren's plane & losing Gat (A character I really loved, & his death made me super frustrated), Boss & Shaundi landed on Steelport, where the majority of the game takes place, ruled by the aforementioned Syndicate, which comprises three gangs: Morningstar (Loren's Gang), The Deckers (led by Brendan Urie-looking Matt Miller), & The Luchadores (led by Killbane).

For the game, there are a lot of changes. For one, its respect system is made as a level-up system to unlock rewards and upgrades, as opposed to doing activities in order to fill the respect bar in order to play missions & receive rewards, and the missions are played like levels rather than just separate storylines from the previous. The activities like Mayhem, Heli Assault, Escort, Snatch, Trail Blazing, & Trafficking stayed, but Septic Avenger & Fuzz were removed, and activities are mostly done to earn cash or respect grinding. Some of the new activities I enjoyed were the Professor Genki Game Show & Tank Mayhem.

Music stations remained the same, while the new stations are the Adult Swim Station, The Reggaeton channel, & The Blood, which just replaced The Krunch from the last game. However, I feel like the soundtrack isn't as memorable & lackluster since I mostly listen to the in-game Mixtape I made, which consists of tracks from Mostly The Mix, a few from Gen X & KRhyme, and the Adult Swim station, such as the Venture Bros Theme, ATHF remix, & the Metalocalypse song. If there were a mod where I could add a custom player similar to GTA Vice City and San Andreas, to which I can add my personal music to the game.

Anyways, after raiding a Military Base, buy clothing from Planet Saints as well as fighting brutes & sing-along to "What I Got" by Sublime with Pierce, taking over one of Loren's HQ set to Kanye's "Power" as well as taking over the building as our HQ, defeating Loren very early on where I kept the building for cash, and getting a new homie/member of the saints, ex-KGB Agent & the original copy of the brutes, Oleg (Who's one of my favorite new characters in the game), I began recruiting several new members of the saints which include Hacker Kinzie Kensington, Auto-tuned Pimp Zimos, & former Luchadores member Angel De La Muerte following an Attack by Killbane at the Stillwater bridge.

Lastly, I forgot to mention that the combat system is much better and easier to use. Also, throughout the game, I took the chance to change outfits in several missions, which I didn't use back in SR2, and all clothing in this game feels really good, especially with the avatar I'm playing with. My favorite stores to buy clothing in this game are Planet Saints, Leather & Lace, & Nobody Likes Me. That's all for now. I will continue my review in the next post.

My Avatar in Saints Row 2

For Saints Row 2, I was having a hard time with Character creation in this game since it was my first Saints Row game I played last month, and the character I chose for this game was the Black Male Boss (With Kenny Blank as my Voice), who looks like Virgil Hawkins or Randy Robertson from Spider-Man comics.

However, throughout the game, I didn't change clothes that much since I was vibing with the urban outfit, which wasn't changed until the late game, when I only changed the Shirt and added a Bandana during the Brotherhood and Ultor Missions.

Just finished Saints Row 2

As the title says, I just finished Saints Row 2, where I finished the Ultor Missions (aka the last missions) in the span of 2 days.

When I played the first Ultor Missions, one of the most difficult missions I have played here was saving Pierce & Shaundi, the first mission in Ultor. Saving Pierce is easy, but Shaundi took me multiple attempts to save her because of how fast the van was to disable. The third mission took me only 2 attempts, and the last mission took multiple attempts to accomplish because of the helicopters unexpectedly showing up and not continuing the mission until Today. Also, the ending caught me off guard because my avatar just blasted Dane Vogel out of a 70-Story Building and Ragdolled without any sustaining injuries until the very ground floor of the building, bleeding, then Pierce & Shaundi showed up in the building after my avatar killed Vogel, then ended with them riding a helicopter into the sunset and owning Stillwater.

Since I finished the game, my closing thoughts are that it is a really enjoyable game, both story-wise and gameplay-wise, because the game doesn't feel boring, and the activities in the game don't feel useless at all. I would rate the game around 10/10 because of how enjoyable it was. That's All.

My First time playing Saints Row 2

I have never played SR2 before, and I only heard of the game through IMDb when I was just searching for Paramore songs that were used in FIlms or TV, and this is one of them in this game. I didn't play the game when I first heard of it, but I decided to give it a shot and downloaded it around May. 7 during my first weeks of Third Term College here in the philippines.

So I started the game by creating my avatar, and it looks like Static/Virgil Hawkins from Static Shock. After doing the tutorials and several tutorial things, I mostly did Ronin Missions first & while exploring, I found out that you need respect points to play missions, so during my first days of playing, I only did Drive-by diversions to get a few points, which was tiring because I had to find Ronin Gangsters to shoot and I decided to do the Activities which gives me more respect points to play more missions and gives me goodies like unlimited ammo. While Ronin missions weren't present that much, I did a few Sons of Samedi missions. My favorite activities to do in the game are Mayhem, Fuzz, Snatch, & Septic Avenger; My least were Crowd Control & Insurance Fraud (It's hard for a first timer, ok).

One aspect of the game I realized is that it reminds me a lot of GTA, both gameplay and story. Because when SR2 was released, this was where the game started to lean into the Absurdity and to distinguish itself from GTA based on their first game's reviews, and this was at the time when GTA was leaning towards the Realism & Grittiness with the release of GTA IV, which was release in the same year as SR2's release, five months apart.

The world in this game feels immersive & well-designed. It looks small in the picture, but when I explore it, it feels big. Props to Voliton for doing a swell job with the world design.

Another aspect I really enjoyed is the music. I really enjoyed the songs that appeared in the game, which is a combination of mainstream & underground songs, but I only listened to four stations: Gen X, KRHYME, The Krunch, & The Mix. Thanks to this game, So Sick by Ne-Yo is now on my repeat.

After doing the Ronin Missions, I mostly grind for respect points to play the Sons of Samedi Missions as well as the Brotherhood missions and when I reached around 75 points I managed to get Infinity Respect points while doing the sons of samedi missions which I unexpectedly receive in one of the Sons Missions, which means I have no need to grind.

And just yesterday I finished the Samedi & the Brotherhood Missions. Out of all the story missions I did so far is the Brotherhood is one of the hardest missions to do, especially that mission with holding jessica hostage at the bank.

Overall, I really enjoyed the game and I also downloaded SR3 but I only played it a little but haven't fully played it yet since I have to finish SR 2 as of the moment.
