Nairobi techies: VS Code is eating my last 4GB of RAM
Hey techies,
My machine is currently on life support trying to run a build while holding 15 Chrome tabs hostage. I'm looking to add an 8GB DDR4 SODIMM (Laptop RAM) to give this setup some breathing room.
I know half of us have that one "graveyard drawer" containing a motherboard with liquid damage, a cracked screen laptop from 2021, or a bricked machine gathering dust. If you have an intact 8GB DDR4 stick sitting inside a dead laptop chassis, let’s talk!
What I’m looking for:
- Type: DDR4 SODIMM (Standard 260-pin laptop RAM)
- Capacity: 8GB (any standard speed: 2400MHz / 2666MHz / 3200MHz)
What’s in it for you: I'm not looking for a free hand-out — I'm happy to:

- pay a fair scrap value for the hardware.
- trade a quick tech favor or a deep-dive code debug session.

Logistics: Flexible with pickup anywhere accessible in Nairobi (CBD, Westlands, Kilimani, along Thika Road, or near any convenient matatu stage). I can test it on-site if you have a working test rig, or send you an update once plugged in.
