Where do you go to find events, gatherings, socials, and informal meetups in the city?
I’ve found What’s On Mission useful, but it doesn’t seem to share many informal gatherings, like book clubs, park meetups, community get-togethers, etc.
We are moving from Metro Vancouver, looking to find a bigger house with affordable rental prices. All our friends are saying we are moving to 'nowhere', where there is no diversity and nothing to do. To be honest, I think a calmer place where we can find a community is what I really need right now as we think about starting a family. I think what I'm looking for here is confirmation that it is a good decision lol .. what is your opinion about the city?
this might sound a bit weird but… do people actually make friends/connections at the library?
i’m new to the country and i go to the library a lot. i like being there and i’ve tried going to some programs, but i still don’t really connect with anyone.
it feels awkward to just talk to someone since everyone’s doing their own thing, and i don’t want to bother people. but at the same time, i feel like it should be a good place to meet people??
if you’ve managed to make friends there, how did you do it? or am i just overthinking this 😅
