Room noise reduction for recording solo vocals?
Hi, I live in an area near a busy highway, and I’m having trouble recording vocals without an ambient hiss, no matter the time of day. I can’t get in very close to the mic because then it picks up irregular pops and sibilants made by my dental appliance.
I was wondering if there’s something physical I can clip over the mic.
I’ve tried all sorts of workarounds with GarageBand, but nothing really works. It‘s kinda sad to warm up over a few takes, get a nice strong one, and then have room hiss and dental pops. I thought about getting an external mic, but it feels like something more sensitive that what I’ve got wouldn’t work out very well considering my specific situation. Thanks in advance for your help.
