Picked up a 1970s Delta Unisaw for $200 off Marketplace. Here's what I found when I got it home.
Saw the listing and couldn't pass it up. 10" Unisaw, supposedly running, for $200. Got it home and started fixing the main issues (rusted cast iron, bent fence, trashed extension table, duct tape motor cover, and a surprise 3-phase motor I couldn't power).
Ended up doing a full restoration including rust removal, custom dovetail motor cover, dovetailed extension table with dry erase board and router insert, new UHMW fence faces, and a full alignment. I'm genuinely ecstatic with how it came out.
Anyone else been down the vintage Unisaw rabbit hole? Curious whether people think these old saws are still worth restoring vs. putting that money towards a SawStop?
Full restoration video in the comments if anyone wants to the process.
