Well, that was better than I had expected.

Operation started just before noon, and I was awake in recovery by 2:52pm. Posting at 7:24pm Not feeling anything in the way of pain, just slightly pressure and honestly more annoyed by the catheter than anything. Already up and walking around. Filled my water bottle at the fountain, and cleaned up my own spill.

I had no endometriosis or cancer or anything. Uterus, ovaries and tubes removed for PMDD.

Honestly feel like I will be back to work way sooner than the naysayers on my last post who had me terrified.

Been on Lupron and HRT for past year so not worried about menopause.

We all are different.

Edit: I feel like I should add: I am a very healthy, active 33yo. Ymmv

What to expect for recovery? Laproscopic hysterectomy coming on Thursday

Looking for some real life experiences of recovery time for laproscopic hysterectomy. I am someone with a very high pain tolerance, and I typically heal well (was home within 5 hours of living birth, and cooked supper the same day). I dont want to be off work any longer than absolutely necessary as I just started my own dog grooming business, and if I dont work, I dont have income. I do have help in the shop, as I have a bather who can do the heavy work for me.

Im taking a week and a half off completely, with only 1 or 2 dogs per day 2x/week. Equaling about 4 hrs standing/working for the day.

Am I being unrealistic? Im hoping there's some other folks out there who managed to get back to work sooner than later.
