What do I have? Canon EOS Rebel S / 1000F
Hi photographers,
I have never used a film camera before. I know very little about photogrpahy terms in general, but became familiar with stuff like ISO, Shutter speed, etc (stuff you can find on a cellphone camera).
I went to my mom's last weekend and found this Canon. It's called EOS Rebel S or 1000F elsewhere in the world. I thought I could have fun with it, popped a 2cr5 battery in it and saw it had a film with 14 more poses available in it. Now I have about 5 poses left, and will have it developped at some point. I have no idea of the ISO of the film in it, so it'll be a surprise how it comes out. AutoFocus works and will adjust if I switch subjects while half-pressing the trigger.
I have a few questions for you guys. Is the camera and/or lens any good? Is the lens screwed after I glued the dry plastic ring? Is there a special way to have an expired film developped? What's a cheap film that is useable just for funsies? Are the automatic programs (landscape, portrait, etc) useable at all?
I did watch a few videos on the specific camera but they're not talking about the lens. Basically looking for any piece of info and advice as my mother doesn't recall buying it nor using it.
