Power Up?
Has anyone else seen something called “Google Play Power Up”?
The other day while making an in-app purchase, I got prompted to join what appeared to be a new premium Google Play subscription/rewards program. From what I remember, it included something like:
$120/month in Play credit for $99/month
Play Pass included
Massively boosted Play Points rewards (I think 10x)
I went through the signup/pre-enrollment flow, but then got hit with an “Oops, you caught us early” message and received a $5 in-app purchase coupon instead. The coupon itself had the Power Up name/logo branding on it, which makes me think this was an intentional early-access/pre-release rollout and not just some random error.
What’s interesting is that I can barely find any information about it online. The only vaguely related thing I’ve found is discussion around “Diamond VIP,” which seems to be a separate ultra-premium invite-only Play Points tier.
Has anyone else seen Power Up specifically, or actually gotten into it?
