How much time do you spend on drafting/modeling as opposed to analysis/design in your job?

I’ve been with my company for over a decade and I’m ashamed to say I’ve spent a majority of that time drafting instead Revit instead of designing and analyzing through programs like SAP2000, RISA, etc... I’ve brought this up with my managers and things improve for maybe a project or two, but then they go back to assigning draft heavy tasks to me.

I’ve stayed with the company for as long as I had because the money and benefits are good and my family is happy with where we live. However, I can’t continue with this company if there’s no opportunity for growth or change in responsibility. I’ve had my license for almost 2 years now and nothing has changed for me.

So, for those of you who are 10 or more years into your career, do you draft and detail all day like I do? If not, what are your days like? I’m looking hard at making changes and would like to have realistic expectations when searching for a new position
