Where do I stop here??
North Carolina driver here and I’m a little confused about this stop sign near the DMV.
The stop sign is way before the intersection, so much so that stopping ‘before’ it makes it difficult to see both ways but it does seem to be before a sidewalk albeit only a small path leading from the church to like one house.
The actual line for the intersection is much later, after the entrance to the church on the right.
The NC drivers handbook states “the driver must stop at the appropriately marked stop line. If there is no stop line or marked crosswalk, the driver must stop before entering the intersection where he/she has a view of the intersecting street.”
So I guess according to exact written rules I would drive up further past the stop sign, just before the dashed intersection line.
I’m just confused. Any advice would be appreciated.
