Struggling with new role.

Recently left a firm i was very happy with in a maintenance engineering role after a decade of working there, due to stagnant wages and working rotating night shifts, to a firm closer to home so less commuting, higher wages and preferable dayshift only pattern.

Admittedly it is large factory in the local area with a somewhat negative reputation. However through the interview process i thought it didnt look as bad as its made out to be, so i took the role.

1 month in now and i hate it.

Such a overwhelmingly negative enviroment, already one of my co workers has had a shouting match with the manager infront of me. There is a constant feeling of tension in the enviroment between my shift mates. One of them is extreemly lazy from my observations, has no interest of working with me and has made multiple bellitling comments on my experience and ability already. There seems to be a culture of "knowledge is power" ie. Multiple times now when i have asked people if they need help or assistance with jobs or tasks they dismiss me. Or when i have required assistance they just come and take over instead of working with me on the problem. Feel completely and utterly useless most days just trying to do anything to keep myself busy doing basic maintenance tasks, however feel like im not progressing my knowledge like i should be doing.

Havent felt this low in a long time and i lay awake at night not wanting to sleep because it means i will have to go back there.

I guess i just needed to rant.

Wondering if anyone else has been in this position before, maybe its because i did so long at my old company im to "institutionalised" to there?

Thanks for reading.
