Bought a box of blanks on FB marketplace.
Paid $20 for all this. Any ideas what the big blue stained blanks are? They are almost punky but should be able to be stabilized with resin.

Picked this little 18” Beauty up today for $440. Plus about 25 turning blanks for another $30. Now I just gotta rewire my shop for 220. Oh and build said shop.
Quick little walnut dipper out of some scrap
Wasn’t sure what this was but it glows under UV light so pretty sure it’s redbud - I didn’t know they get this big.
Picked this up from a ditch. I thought it might be a coniferous tree at first. When I cut into it it smells almost like tobacco. I’m befuzzled.
Received this blank from an older wood turner that has stopped turning due to health. It was very dry. Not sure what wood (I’m always wrong when I guess, so I won’t) but the bluish streaks seemed to be a result of some small insect holes which I ended up filling with black UV epoxy. This was my first time turning off the foot and I love it!
Small little box out of hickory. ~ 3”x3” including the finial.
This was a dogwood limb that had been left laying on the ground for several years. I almost gave up on it. The plan was to make a scoop. Turned out, there was a bud vase there instead. About 7.75” x 2.75”.
I’m not sure of the wood - I bought a large slab years ago in rough shape. Any help identifying would be appreciated. It’s definitely in the evergreen realm. Last three photos are a vase of the same wood and the rough wood.
I am having so much fun! This isn’t a hobby, it’s more of an obsession.
Dad and I don’t normally make a big deal out of birthdays or holidays, but felt like he deserved another piece off of the lathe that he helped me secure. Not sure of the wood - but not oak!
Went thinner than I planned but really happy with how it turned out. 8.5” x .75”
White oak salt and pepper shakers. Stained the pepper shaker with black dye mixed in walnut oil. Gift for Mother’s Day.
