I'm trying to get ideas for a novel, and I believe that one of the best ways to research people living in this or that time period is through personal diary entries (that have voluntarily been made available to internet readers).
It is unfortunate that I haven't been able to find such a resource. The New York Public Library has some info, but it's not much, and it's not quite what I'm looking for.
I think it's unlikely that what I'm looking for exists --- after all, how many people are going to give up their personal thoughts to be viewed by anyone? And I'm wanting to do a relatively contemporary story, so there won't be much in the way of posthumous publications, either. Still, I wanted to reach out to the community in case somebody knows something that might be useful.
