Kirby Super Star and Return to Dreamland has done immeasurable amounts of damage to the Kirby fanbase
Starting with Marx, and with Magolor being the nail in the coffin, now whenever a new Kirby game gets announced alongside a new protagonist side character, the Kirby fanbase immediately believes that they will turn into a back stabbing, no good, evil character and I love seeing this cycle happen over and over again with each new game.
