I’ve mostly used the usual swipe-style dating apps, but recently I got curious about some of the international platforms that seem to focus more on communication, so I decided to try one briefly just to see what the experience was like. What stood out immediately is that the interaction feels very different from regular apps. Conversations seem easier to maintain, replies come more consistently, and overall it feels less centered around endless matching and more around actually talking to people.

The atmosphere also feels different in general. Profiles are usually more detailed, people seem more engaged in conversations, and the pace feels slower compared to the fast-moving style of mainstream apps. At first, I actually found that pretty refreshing. At the same time, after using it for a while, I realized I wasn’t fully sure how to interpret the experience long-term. Chats stayed active without much effort, but I couldn’t really tell how often people naturally move beyond the app itself.

I’m not saying that in a negative way - the format just feels very different from what most people are used to with online dating.

I only spent a limited amount of time exploring it, so I don’t have strong conclusions yet. Mostly I just found it interesting how different the overall dynamic feels compared to traditional dating apps.

Curious if other people here have tried similar platforms.

Did you enjoy the experience overall?

Did conversations eventually become more meaningful?

How different did it feel compared to normal dating apps for you?
