Hi I’m looking into getting a hair transplant and I came here looking for some info and some advice.
So I’m a 21 year old male and my hair has been thinning for around 4 years now.
in February of 2025 I started taking oral minoxidil and finasteride from hims daily and before that I took topical minoxidil daily for around a year.
i mention this because I’ve read in other post that that men in their early 20‘s usually only get a transplant if their hair is stabilized by medication.
my hair is thinning on my crown, the middle of my scalp and on my corners, how much grafts would that take and how much would that cost?
Im looking to stay local for a transplant and I was wondering if there is any good clinics in the Orange County area?
When I’m choosing a clinic, what should I look out for to avoid getting scammed or a botched transplant?
What’s the whole process of booking the transplant like? do you simply just meet the doctor once then book it or is it a longer process?
As for the transplant itself, how long does it take? and on a scale from 1-10 how bad is the pain?
I know after the transplant it takes a while to get full results, what are you ways to stop your hair from looking awkward during that time.
