This wasn't an update out of the blue, the real reason is because the Devs wanted to update the anti cheat

Idk if you guys know but hackers figured out a way to access the ID panel and play as dev exclusive characters

Unfortunately ONE guy was "brave" enough to literally play as Updated Super Sonic IN FRONT of a staff member who was playing as them at the same time lol

They aren't updating the game because they care, they're literally just updating it to gatekeep even more LOL

How do I know this is true? Because if you go to a private server and try playing as a PS character you'll get auto kicked because they didn't even properly implement it! They probably just hard coded it to auto kick you if you play as anything that isn't a vanilla character without even thinking about private servers.

Hence why the update has zero bug fixes or anything, it's a low effort update, the voice lines were already put together and ready to be added, and they were only added as a "Trojan horse" so they could roll out the updated anti cheat along with it, and they knew they'd look like assholes if they really just updated the game and said "updated anti cheat"

edit: yes I know they went back on the not being allowed to record Dev stuff, that post wasn't there at the time of me writing this post lol

I've heard people use the defense that the one who made the Updated Super Sonic isn't even working on the actual game anymore, and the only ones working on the game are PR and Null

Now, I can admit, having a Romeo skin of Sonic as a PS survivor is pretty lame but at least it's something

And it's crazy how the people who don't even fucking work on the game anymore clowned on Romeo for actually wanting to give us something and got it cancelled (except it wasn't even really cancelled, it's just a dev exclusive now for Romeo), so they cried about it not being "communicated" to them. But they're fine with somebody making them an upgraded Super Sonic?? It's literally like a bunch of fat rich guys making fun of somebody for giving a homeless person change.

Seems they only want to complain about new content when it's for the actual players, but it's all fine when it's for Devs only!

I've heard that the reason that many of the dev exclusive characters will not be added to private servers is because they don't have permission from the people who made them.. so, yeah. It genuinely is gatekeeping Memories.

I don't even like Romeo but at least he tried to get us what content he could (he was the only one even asking if we could have characters in private servers, and he got the Furnaces put into PS). Everybody else on the Dev team is fine with just having it be Cartmanland forever.

EVEN Sobii was better because he at least gave us some things, like Super Sonic in private servers, Fleetway and Shadow in pubs.

But now the only two people who actually want to give US new content have left the team, the game has been dead for a month without even a single bug fix due to the only other two people who even care about updating the actual game (PR and Null) being on break, and they're still getting new Dev exclusive characters all the while!

And to make things even funnier, they're trying to gatekeep gameplay footage as well! That's right, if you see the updated Super Sonic in your game, you're not even allowed to record them!! (The youtuber TheOneandOni was told to take a video down of Updated Super Sonic gameplay)

Genuinely, if somebody isn't willing to contribute to the actual game, but only wants to make Dev exclusives, why are they even still there??

Also they keep changing the narrative on the updated Super Sonic dev exclusive character.. first "it was being worked on by a coder and it might get removed because they're leaving the team" now they've changed it to "it was a final gift to the dev team before they leave". Feels more like excuses to make them look less like gatekeepers. Also, again, why are they allowed a gift and we aren't? A lame gift is better than nothing gift and we couldn't even have that because "it wasn't communicated to them". God forbid they know how we feel, never knowing anything unless it gets leaked or announced, but one harmless PS reskin character makes them flip their shit

There's genuinely no reason why 90% of the stuff that's dev exclusive can't be in private servers except the guys who made them NOT WANTING IT. And that's a major problem with the OM Dev team. It feels like most of them never actually cared about the game or ordinary players or the community and only wanted to be a part of it for fame.
