I (35F) was diagnosed a year ago after trying to find answers for over six years. Since then, it feels like it’s been a constant juggling act of medical professionals for different parts of my care and keeping track of all the incoming information.
PCP, rheumatologist (and sometimes her PA), gastroenterologist, hematologist, psychiatrist, and OBGYN all just for different prescriptions and treatments related to my lupus symptoms.
It’s exhausting to remember all the disparate information, follow-up with offices if they don’t get back to me about next steps, and try to have a life outside of my health (I work full time, have a toddler, am part of a big family and married into a big family, and we try to keep up with friends as much as possible too, not to mention managing my house).
Anyone else also feel this exhaustion? Anything that’s helped you?
