Hey all, I just switched to Bazzite a few days ago and all has been great! Balatro, Titanfall 2, and Trackmania are all running absolutely fantastic, and I love how refreshing it feels to be daily-ing something other than Windows.
However, I’ve really been into Mouse PI recently, and after switching to Bazzite, my frames have gone from locked 165fps to weirdly locked 35? Like not stuttering really, just perfectly shit at 35.
I’ve only just switched, but I’m not a complete noob. I ran most of your basic checks: I checked and it’s using my dedicated GPU, I tried wine, proton LTS, proton experimental, etc.
I checked ProtonDB and apparently it runs fine on deck, so it’s not like the game is incompatible with Linux, but I’ve yet to see proof of a single other person playing on Bazzite without issues.
I’ll admit, I did *procure* the game, most of this tinkering was in Lutris, but I then actually bought it for kicks, and sure enough playing officially through Steam yielded identical results.
What the hell is going on? Is anyone else experiencing this?
EDIT: I found that my GPU (1660Ti) is apparently getting maxed out, but this gpu has been more than capable of locked 165fps in Titanfall 2 on this same bazzite installation, so the drivers are clearly at least partially working. Very unsure as to why this is the case.
