Canadian living in US; go with current mortgage provider or shop around?

Canadian living in US. We bought our first home in 2021 and then moved shortly after due to work transfer. Our mortgage is coming up for renewal in 100 days.

I still have PTSD from the first mortgage application. My mortgage provider grilled me for every single transaction that was more than $50. So I am a bit nervous about the renewal process.

  • Should I wait for offer from current provider or start shopping around?
  • How does the process work if you are based in US and have no Canadian income, but renewing your mortgage?

Any advice on which companies have streamlined such renewals?

When does mortgage renewal happen?

Hi all - first time home buyer here. My mortgage is through Canwise. The 5 year period ends in December 2026 and I have heard nothing from my provider re: renewal.

When does renewal offer come in? Is there something I have to do as part of the process?

Chaplain Candidate looking for advice

Hi ! Looking for some advice - I am a chaplain candidate in the Chicagoland area, tagged with a unit here. As a candidate, my first focus here is to finish school and be ready for chaplaincy.

My unit will mobilize next year, so most of their drills are longer and away from home station and mostly in the field. This impacts my study schedule as I have four courses this term.

What can I do? Are there any units I should transfer to which are more home station based and follow the 2x/month, 15 days/AT schedule? Any advice?

No hate please, I am really new to army.

Recent 2LT, pre-BOLC, going for 2 weeks AT. Advice?

Just looking for any tips for my first 14 day drill coming up - will be staying on field, in individual lite fighter tents, have no camping experience. I am a recent 2LT direct commission but I haven’t gone to BOLC yet, anyone have any idea how it would be like? Still gathering info and gear, I only have OCP for now. What do I urgently order - on either online or shop my exchange?

25mg side effects

Hi all - looking for some advice. I started with Wegovy pills and made my way to 25mg around day 90. To be honest, first 90 days were useless - weight barely moved, I was hungry consistently. First 2 weeks at 25 mg were the same as well.

Now it is starting to really hit, and I have a few questions.

  • I am not hungry much, fatigued, shivers and feel the burping. I am assuming that's the medicine kicking in?
  • I have this weird sensation on my back. It is not really pain or cramps, but it feels like needles? Is that what people refer to Allodynia?
  • My stomach feels really acidic in the morning after I have the pill with 2-3 sips of water. How do you all manage it?
  • I also get fever at night - is that a Wegovy thing too or a viral bug?

Any advice on how to manage these side effects? I am hating this phase :(

Applying for military naturalization myself, any resources?

Hi - I am applying for naturalization myself. I have the N-426 and just filing out N-400. Have a few questions:

  1. Are there any immigration lawyers in army that I can visit and get help to check the forms?
  2. Under all the history like employment, travel - it says US military army members can either provide info for 1 year or leave it blank. Should I still provide?
  3. For evidence of military - is N426 enough or I need anything else?
