I have read numerous texts that proclaim God as love. Whilst I firmly believe that we are capable of developing a relationship with God so that we can feel God's love, we surely must admit that this is not quite true in light of the real world we live in. Christianity, for example, places evil in the devil, outside of us, but the devil is but a named differentiation of God's effect through us, and so God is not always "love". God is the totality of existence, and so must be light and dark.

I have found through reading and my own spiritual journey that we must reconcile with the darkness of life before we can truly see God's light. By excluding this aspect of God, we do ourselves an injustice.

Does anyone disagree?
