Recovery concerns

I am 62 years old. I had corrective surgery on my bunions this past fall and winter. Right foot end of October and left foot middle of February. I feel like I aged 20 years!! I am having such a hard time regaining my strength. The non-weight bearing status over the winter made me incredibly weak. My surgery was successful but I’m so frustrated that I almost regret having had the procedures. I walk like I’m 85 years old and need to rest after doing any type of chore. I am doing the PT exercises and trying to be active. I’m also trying to be patient and kind to myself. I am wondering how others are doing with their recovery after being non- weight bearing for so long. Did you all lose muscle strength as well? Were you so debilitated as I feel? Did you ever regain the ability and strength again to go about your day and not have to rest every 15 minutes? I think I’m looking for reassurance. Please tell me your recovery stories.
