If an attorney says they will start filing custody modifications if a parent doesn’t drop contempt charges against their client, then moves forward with filing a modification on a fabricated change of circumstance when the parent doesn’t drop the charges, does that amount to extortion or is it just standard hardball negotiation and annoying tactics?
