Inherited 2 fish and some snails in a 2.5g tank from mother in law. Filter wouldn’t work so went to buy a new one and ended up just buying a 10g tank re used all of there decorations with the 2 moss balls and 1 live plant. I added the taller live plant and beta. Beta seems pretty laid back. Also had some snail but I think most are dead, should I get a few more for algae? Also the long rope one usually hides but every now and then he goes crazy up and down the side of the wall I figured he’s stressed so I bought some stress relief liquid? Hope that helps. Also the other small fish seems to be fine with the beta unless I just fed them then the beta will flare at him while he’s looking for food other than that they are fine. I’m assuming the smaller fish probably does better in a small school? Just need advice on if I should change the substrate, add more plants, take away the heater? Add snails ? Another bottoms feeder? What foods and how often? What other fish could I add that would be beneficial, do pools for a living so I feel pretty confident I could get down the testing of this water and maintain proper levels just don’t know if I really need to get in depth too much with this small of a setup and seemingly hardy fish. Any advice or feedback helps wasn’t planning on getting into Aquariums or fish but have a feeling this will be a fun hobby.
