Thinking about taking it camping and doing some simple pizzas cheese/garlic, margarita, pepperoni. Was wondering just how much propane it uses for a bake. Plus can I get away with not bringing the 20lb cylinder and go with my flame king refillables.

So yesterday I tested the setup, backyard 74°. I was wondering if a 1lb cylinder could supply enough gas to the regulator. The temperature on testing every 5min seems to max out around 760° average on the stone after 40min. The same time frame with a 20lb would blow past 800° easily. I can live with the lower temp.

I used 210g of fuel in the 40 min and a cylinder holds just over 420g on a decent fill. However the cylinder got very frosty and if I was in the mountains & it was late evening around 50°, one would have to probably swap out tanks or immerse it in a bath of warm water to keep the gas flowing.

Anyway, envision pulling the dough out of the ice chest, setting it on the dashboard in the sun for a bit, should be doable...

Cinco de Mayo 9 pizzas for 10 folks 2 different doughs, people wanting to make their own. A couple of them make a pizza with the kitchen sink on it - will not launch - I just pressed the peel on to the stone, gas on its lowest setting, took the doors off, slowed everything down, launched after 30sec, slow bake, brought the heat up near the end...

Homer Simpson moment averted...
