No CNA experience as a transfer??

I'm an incoming cc pre-nursing student looking to transfer into a csu for my bsn.

I was originally going to complete a CNA program during the fall, but because of the amount of stress it added, I'm planning on completing it in the spring. The program is about 4 months so I would have around 5 months of experience before I would have to apply for cal states. Would it still be worth it despite not working long? And this is to say I get a CNA position right away. Should I instead focus on getting 200+ volunteer hours and working a simple part-time job?

It's also possible that I might not even get into the CNA program I'm applying to. So would I still have a shot with volunteer hours alone? (Considering I get a good GPA and TEAS + CASPER score)

The stress coming from how competitive it is in Cali is going to take years off my life....
